We confess, it’s hard to say goodbye to summer. But in the wake of the southbound birds and the shortening sunny days, we’re reminded that as one season ends a new one begins. And that means there is always something fun to discover…like original artwork inspired by autumn!
Did you know there are more than a dozen art pieces inspired by the fall at Seaside Art Gallery? Below is a small sampling that caught our eye:
In the Field by Suzanne Morris
Many people enjoy outdoor hunting as a fall pastime. This oil painting does a great job capturing the experience. Morris’s Plein Air style involves painting outside, a natural fit for this theme. It gets bonus points for the loyal dog, too!
Autumn by the Lake by Stephan Whittle
Who would have thought this amazing lakeside scene is actually a watercolor etching! It looks like a great place to go fall fishing or leaf collecting. The heavenly sunlight and water are the perfect accents that complete the look.
Fall with Frosting by Travis Humphreys
Snow already? No thank you! But this gorgeous mountainside forest in glistening white powder might change your mind…just a little. The deep red foliage painted with oil on Masonite panel is a good contrast with the snow.
Autumn in Sedona by Janet Pierce
After trekking through that chilly snow, let’s warm up with in the desert! Not many folks think about the desert in fall, but this oil painting shows off the season well in its color palette. The warm geological landscape is perfect for an autumn mood.
September by Gail MacArgel
Hay rides and cider… Corn stalk mazes… Bonfires… Some of the most marvelous fall memories are made on the farm! If you enjoy remembering them year-round, this oil on ivorine painting is a peaceful memento of these simpler times.
Autumn Shadows by Connie Cruise
Remember the nostalgia you felt driving through the country to get to Grandma’s house, or a dear friend? That’s what this oil painting reminds us. The soft trees and friendly driveway almost compels us to smell the pumpkin pie waiting at the end.
Bushel of Gourds by Debra Kierce
No autumn is complete without a bushel of colorful squash gracing your table. The fine oil painted details on the skin of these winter veggies is a great conversation starter at Thanksgiving or any fall gathering with company.
Beauty in the Changes
The transition from summer to fall is a thoughtful example how beauty is all around us in the midst of change. Do you connect with any of these art pieces? Let’s talk about it on Seaside Art Gallery’s social media pages! You can bring your piece home by purchasing it on our website or in the Gallery. Speaking of which, autumn is a great time to visit Seaside Art Gallery in the Outer Banks! The weather is especially beautiful this time of year. We look forward to assisting you!
